About Us

Portola Valley Training Center is located in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area on the Peninsula between San Francisco and San Jose. Among the many reasons for its charm and acclaim, the Peninsula is home to the renowned Stanford University and vibrant Silicon Valley. The area boasts a rich and diverse cultural population, fantastic geography and remarkable year-round weather.

The Training Center neighbors Stanford University and is only a half hour drive from either San Jose or San Francisco. Just minutes off Highway 280 or Junipero Serra Freeway, considered the “Most Beautiful Freeway in the World,” Portola Valley Training Center is easily accessible from the entire Peninsula and South Bay.

Among the amenities on the 60 acre grounds are many meticulously groomed and maintained jumping and flat arenas. Completely unique is the 5/8 mile racetrack, from days past, for conditioning, 40 acres for off-training day leisure rides, and an on-site veterinary with full surgical facilities.
